Course dates, schedule & duration

  • Start date: Courses start every Monday throughout the year
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, morning groups: 9:00am–12:35pm. Afternoon groups (2:35–6:00pm) open only when morning groups are full.
  • If assigned to an afternoon group, students move to a morning group the following week, if their course continues.
    Afternoons for Conversation and Private lessons, depending on your course.
  • Duration: from 1 to 52 weeks

Beginners with no prior knowledge have fixed start dates.
ℹ️ For stays of 20+ weeks, students can add 1 week of vacation per 5 weeks booked.

How Intensive 20 works

Weekly structure

Classes run from Monday to Friday, following a weekly structure that supports regular practice and consistent progress.

Typical schedule

Classes run in the morning (9:00–12:35) or afternoon (14:35–18:00), with morning groups being the norm. Afternoon groups open only when morning groups are full. Schedules are assigned by the school.

Small groups

Lessons take place in small groups of around 5 to 10 students, allowing active participation and individual attention.

Academic structure

The course follows a structured academic program based on a coursebook, supported by the school’s own teaching materials.

Levels & progression

The Intensive course is available for students at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Students are placed in the appropriate group based on their current level of Spanish.

Progression is monitored continuously by teachers, ensuring that students develop their language skills in a structured and balanced way. As students improve, they may move to higher levels according to academic criteria and availability.

In general, students need approximately the following number of weeks of Intensive 20 Spanish classes to complete each level:

  • A1: 6 weeks
  • A2: 8 additional weeks
  • B1: 10 additional weeks
  • B2: 12 additional weeks
  • C1: 12 additional weeks
  • C2: 15 weeks or more

Examples:

  • If you start from zero, you will need approximately 24 weeks to complete B1 (6 + 8 + 10 weeks) and 36 weeks to complete B2.
  • If you already have an A2 level and can join a B1 course, you will need approximately 10 weeks to complete B1, followed by another 12 weeks to complete B2.

These are estimates. Your progress will depend on your starting level, attendance and how quickly you learn.

Intensive group lessons usually take place in the morning. Afternoon groups only open when the morning groups are full, so you may be assigned an afternoon timetable for one week.
If your course continues the following week, you will move to a morning group.

Intensive 20 includes 20 group Spanish lessons per week.
Intensive Plus adds 4 extra lessons per week focused on culture and conversation.
